Trefoil Guild and Friends of Guiding

The Aim of The Trefoil Guild and Friends of Guiding is to keep those who have an interest or connection in Guiding, but who are currently unable to take part in active guiding, in touch with what is going on in Guiding.

We have 3 very active groups in North Lanarkshire

  • Airdrie Friends of Guiding
  • Bishopbriggs Trefoil Guild
  • Coatbridge Friends of Guiding
Bishopbriggs Trefoil Guild

Morna Ferguson was the speaker at the last meeting of the Guild, she was talking about Lady Baden Powell's badges.

Lady Baden Powell's grandson, Robert, donated 'Granny's badges', to be sold to raise funds for WAGGGS Global Girls Fund. The badges were valued between £25,000 - £30,000.  It was decided to raise this money by other means instead of selling the badges so that future generations could see them and remember her.

Lady Baden Powell's badges and a cheque for £40,000 have been presented to Pax Lodge in London.

Coatbridge Friends of Guiding

The Ladies held a very successful coffee morning and raised £689.  Two of their members also received small presentations as Mrs Russell celebrated her 80th birthday and Mrs Charles celebrates 80 years of Girlguiding this year.

Congratulations also goes to Mr and Mrs Rod Spencer, who celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary on 15th April.  Sheila Spencer is a County Vice President and also a member of Friends of Guiding
